Assessing Needs

Assessing Need

Authorized Officials use the following steps to assess whether or not an applicant is in need of Career Employment Information Services:

  1. Determine the identifying need of the applicant and whether it is under the Community and Social Services (CSS) mandate to provide this service.
  2. Establish the applicant’s eligibility for CSS programs and services.
  3. Refer the applicant to the appropriate internal or external resources/services.
  4. Apply assessment policy requirements to determine needs and services.
  5. Advise the applicant of the variety of programs and services available to them to meet their needs and assist them to be as independent as they are able.

Authorized Officials must ensure individuals are appropriately assessed so that the employment or training needs can be determined.
