Career & Employment Information Services Overview

Policy Governing All Programs and Services

INTENT

To provide general rules and considerations applying to all Career and Employment Information Services (CEIS).

Authority for approving Programs and Services

Authority for providing CEIS programs and services resides with the Career and Employment Consultant (CEC) or Authorized Official unless otherwise stated.

ELIGIBILITY

CEIS supports the provision of programs and services to:

  • Individuals legally eligible to work and study in Canada
  • Adults that are Labour Market destined
  • Employers with the exception of federal, provincial and territorial governments, and federal crown corporations and agencies


Eligible individuals - include current and former EI claimants as well as individuals who have made minimum EI premium contributions in at least 5 of the last 10 years - to gain skills and work experience with a combination of interventions such as skills training and wage subsidies.

SUBSTANTIATION AND VERIFICATION

Unless otherwise stated, verification of client circumstances requires staff to view the applicable documents and record any relevant details that might not be otherwise captured.
Documents provided by the client that are not to be retained by the Authorized Official are returned to the client.

REVIEW OF DECISIONS
Programs and Services that have been refused are not provided pending Review of Decision for CEIS Programs & Services.
