Taylor, born in 2010, is a darling young girl, with beautiful hazel eyes and a bright, contagious laugh! She takes pride in being well-mannered and polite and especially loves spending time with the people she cares about. Being in a familiar environment with a routine is most comfortable for Taylor. One of the things that brings Taylor much joy is when she can listen to her favourite songs through the TV, so that she can sing and dance along as they are playing. Taylor is a loving youngster who shows genuine concern for those she perceives as sad or hurt, which is very much in keeping with her affectionate and empathetic nature. She has an independent spirit, and plays particularly well on her own or with children who are older than her. She loves horseback riding, spending time around farm animals, ice skating, and going to the park to play on the swings or anything that spins! In the summer, she loves to spend her time going camping, swimming at the beach or being able to splash in a puddle. At home, she enjoys playing with her sensory toys, which are both fun for her and help develop her speech and communication skills. Another favourite activity that Taylor enjoys is when she can help in the kitchen either by stirring a bowl or measuring ingredients.
Taylor does well in school, enjoying the routine of the classroom as well as the social opportunities it provides. She does best when her schedule is predictable and receives the support of her classroom aide. She is gaining independence skills, is meeting her learning goals, and has shown growth in her vocabulary and overall verbal communication abilities.
The family best suited to this loveable child with a sense of adventure should have lots of time, patience, and love to offer. Taylor would do well as the only or youngest child in the home. A family able to ensure she is connected to specialized support services now and as she becomes an adult would be wonderful, as would a family able to support her in gaining independence skills at school, home and in the community. A family committed to helping her remain connected to her siblings and grandmother will definitely be in her best interests.
