MJ, born in 2011, is an endearing young fellow with straight medium brown hair, and grey eyes that are always alert to everything going on around him! He loves connection and engaging with the people in his life, and is especially responsive to one on one attention. MJ is generally easygoing and not inclined to fuss, so when he does it is usually with reason. MJ’s ability to communicate through his iPad continues to evolve, and while he does vocalize through the use of sound, he can make himself best understood when using his device. Having full use of his arms, he enjoys playing with toys, doing crafts, looking at books, and using his iPad. In keeping with his enjoyment of attention, he maintains his longstanding love of looking at books and being read to.
MJ is happy at school where he receives focused supports with his learning. Communication remains a priority area and he continues to learn to use sign language and technology to assist with this. As a youngster who enjoys engaging with others, the opportunities for varied social interaction while at school is a real draw for him, and he is well-liked by teachers and classmates alike.
This sweet and good-natured young person would do well in a loving and energetic 2-parent home, with or without other children. As he requires specialized medical and developmental services, a family able and willing to learn about his needs and how to meet these is essential. His family will need to be dedicated to ensuring his physical well-being through regular access to specialized services, both now and in the future. MJ enjoys a meaningful connection with his birth parents, and maintaining these relationships would be an expectation. MJ will require attentive and committed care, and will offer joy and reward in turn to the family who embraces him.
