A licence is required under the Child Care Licensing Act to operate a child care program that provides care for seven or more children.

Family and Community Support Services Act

Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) is an 80/20 funding partnership between the Government of Alberta, and municipalities or Métis Settlements. Provincially, the FCSS Program receives its mandate from the Family and Community Support Services Act and regulation.

Social Care Facilities Review Committee Act

The Social Care Facilities Review Committee is a citizens’ panel that conducts visits to a sampling of social care facilities throughout Alberta every year. The committee members receive feedback about the services provided to determine recipients’ satisfaction with those services.
