Good advice + hard work = a good life

Photograph of YusraI arrived in Canada in 2008 with my high school diploma with no direction on how to proceed with schooling. I felt lost and needed guidance.

At the Alberta Works Centre, I met a Career and Employment Consultant and she guided me step by step from having my career goals in place to connecting with post-secondary institutions and looking at various funding options.

I took some career planning and resumé development courses through Career Assistance Network. I was also connected with various community resources which were a tremendous help in starting a household. I followed the directions that I was given and was able to get some funding for school.

I graduated from university and I have secured employment and have a happy stable life.

My life has changed for the better. I am in a more secure space financially and educationally, because of the valuable guidance that I received. I am very thankful to the entire Red Deer Alberta Works staff.
