Wired for entrepreneurship

Photograph of WoodyWoody moved to St. Paul in search of employment, but didn’t have much luck. He approached Alberta Works for help and was connected with EmployAbilities.

Woody was able to secure employment in the fast food industry but the pace was too much for him. So he took part in a Customized Employment program delivered by EmployAbilities.

Woody explored his career options through the program and decided to pursue his longtime dream of starting his own computer and technology company.

Woody learned about business plan development and designing webpages, and was able to set up his own business. He also completed business bookkeeping training through Alberta Works.

Woody’s company, “Wired”, has its own webpage and he has some clients already!

Woody was able to realize his dream of having his own business thanks in part to Employabilities, Alberta Works and Alberta’s Employment First Strategy.
