Finding the right job

Photograph of KenKen was unemployed and faced difficulties finding work in Whitecourt. Ken did not have much stability in his life and was motivated to better himself, but found he lacked the resources to do so.

Ken’s Alberta Works Career and Employment Consultant referred him to a job development program at Ballad Consulting Group. There, Ken was able to establish a career goal (Adventure Management). He has enrolled in education upgrading and plans on going to college. He is also working on getting his Driver’s License.

Ken’s interest in working outdoors was matched to a work experience placement at a local lumber mill. Ken is still completing his work experience and has a full-time job offer with his employer to start as soon as he gets his Driver’s License.

“The program was wonderful! They gave me the chance to better my life and receive all the things I needed to further my goals. I even got a full time job from this program.”

Ballad Consulting Group’s job development program is funded by Human Services’ Alberta Works program.
