Alberta Business Awards of Distinction
The Alberta Business Awards of Distinction recognize organizations that have demonstrated outstanding achievement and contribution to their community while having developed business acumen and management practices to ensure long term sustainability. To date, more than 200 companies have been named Alberta Business Award of Distinction recipients.
The Ministry sponsored two prestigious awards in 2015 to honour Alberta employers who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and successfully enhanced workplace diversity along with training and employment opportunities for persons with disabilities.
Employer of Disabilities Award of Distinction
The award honours an employer who has been instrumental in hiring, training and developing employees with disabilities.
Winner: Dean Holloway, BMO Financial Group (Calgary) and Honourable Heather Klimchuk, Minister of Human Services
Premier’s Award of Distinction
This award is presented to the employer who demonstrates outstanding involvement, achievement and leadership in the business community.
Winner: Honourable Don Scott, Minister of Innovation and Advanced Education, David Marshall, Champion Petfoods LP (Morinville), and Honourable Maureen Kubinec, Minister of Culture and Tourism
