LGBTQ Support - Alberta Human Services - Government of Alberta

LGBTQ Support

Alberta is a vibrant and diverse province with people from various cultures, ethnicities, and orientations. The Government of Alberta is committed to celebrating and supporting all communities, including the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered and Questioning (LGBTQ) community.

There are a number of online programs and support for the LGBTQ community that address issues such as discrimination, bullying, family violence and mental health issues.

Creating policies and legislation based on the fundamental rights of equality is a priority for the Government of Alberta. It is crucial to ensure that all Albertans are informed about their rights and have access to supports and programs. All Albertans have the right to live free from harassment and violence, and to live, work and thrive.

Are you experiencing violence or bullying because of your sexual orientation, help is available. Trained staff are available to provide advice and support 24 hours a day, seven days a week, in more than 170 languages.
