Client Sub-Type 44 Self-Employed
Characteristics
These BFE clients are self-employed and engaged in developing a business. They are not required to prove their business can become viable nor are there timelines for this sub-type.
These BFE clients are self-employed and engaged in developing a business. They are not required to prove their business can become viable nor are there timelines for this sub-type.
In addition to the expectations for all BFE clients, self-employed clients are also required to:
- Keep accurate records of business expenses and income received
- Maximize earning potential if reasonable (increase hours, seek additional work contracts) to increase self-sufficiency
Substantiation
- Proof of earnings
- An assessment completed when the multiple barrier was assessed or within a reasonable period of being categorized as sub-type 44 considering factors such as; length of initial medical, client circumstances, assessments, etc.
- In addition, in the case of a person with a persistent mental or physical health problem with an expected duration of more than six months, a(n):
- EMP 0207 Medical Information form (internal document); or
- (DS2444) AISH Application Part B Medical Report; or
- Note/report from a doctor or nurse practitioner.
