Expected to Work (ETW)

Client Sub-Type 15 Attending a Program

Characteristics
Clients who are attending full-time pre-employment or rehabilitation programs identified in their Service Plan. Programs could include:

These are NOT considered Learner training programs, and training benefits (e.g., tuition) are not provided by Community and Social Services under the Income and Employment Supports Act.

Note
Clients attending a Community and Social Services approved
Training Program under the Skills Investment Program
apply for Learner funding.

In addition to the expectations for all ETW clients, clients who are attending a program are also required to:

  • Maintain the same level of commitment and behaviour in their program as an employer would expect in a work situation
  • Attend the program regularly
  • Inform program officials of the reason for any absences
  • Comply with all program policies and practices for student conduct
  • Have an Employability Assessment in Mobius completed

Substantiation
Worker’s knowledge of the client’s situation, or a statement from the program provider regarding the type and length of the program and proof of attendance.
