13 Federal Child Benefit (National Child Benefit Supplement - NCBS)

NCB Help Desk

The NCB Help Desk, located in Centrally Delivered Services (CDS) has access to specific Canada Revenue Agency information for Income Support (IS) program applicants/recipients and will advise IS workers in applying policy for individual cases.

Workers communicate to the Help Desk by completing and emailing the National Child Benefit Supplement (NCBS) Verification.

The  IS worker:

  1. Accesses the form.
  2. Completes the National Child Benefit Supplement (NCBS) Verification and clicks on the ‘Submit’ button.
  3. Enters in Mobius Notes that the completed National Child Benefit Supplement (NCBS) Verification was submitted.
  4. Receives a return email verifying that the information was received including a reference number.
  5. Receives another email usually within 48 hours, with confirmation of the Federal Child Benefit amount (NCBS entitlement) actually received by the client.
  6. Reviews the NCBS verification and follows the usual procedures to determine the client’s eligibility for IS benefits.
  7. Records the response from the NCB Help Desk, along with confirmation of the Federal Child Benefit amount (NCBS entitlement) actually received by the client.in Mobius Notes.
