Schedule 4 Supplementary Income Support

Section 25 Funeral

  1. A funeral payment may be provided for

    1. funeral services to bury or cremate a person in Alberta, or

    2. transportation services to transport the body of a person who has died in Alberta to be buried or cremated in another Province of Canada

    if the financial resources of the legally responsible person are inadequate and there are no other means to pay.

  2. The payment must be made in accordance with an agreement entered into between the Minister and the service provider.
