Part 1 Income Support and Benefits and Training Benefits

Division 3 Learner Household Units, Non-financial Eligibility - Designted as Learner Member and Training Service Plans, Section 39 Residency status - learner member

  1. A person is not eligible to be designated as a learner member unless the person meets the requirements set out in subsection (2).

  2. The person must be

    1. present in Alberta at the time the person is accepted into an approved training program, and

    2. one of the following:

      1. a Canadian citizen;
      2. a permanent resident of Canada;
      3. a refugee who has been accepted to apply for permanent residency in Canada and is legally entitled to work and study in Canada.

  3. Subsection (2)(a) does not apply to an apprentice full time learner.
