Income Support, Training and Health Benefits Regulation

Part 1 Income Support and Benefits and Training Benefits

Division 3 Learner Household Units, Non-financial Eligibility - Household Unit, Section 29 Residency status - non-learner

  1. A non learner member of a learner household unit is not eligible to receive income support and benefits unless the member meets the requirements of subsection (2).

  2. The member must be

    1. a Canadian citizen,

    2. a permanent resident,

    3. a temporary resident permit holder who has been approved for entry into Canada by the Government of Alberta,

    4. a refugee or refugee claimant, or

    5. a victim of human trafficking as determined by Citizenship and Immigration Canada.

  3. The terms used in this section have the same meaning as under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (Canada).
