Section 6 Special transportation and travel
- A special transportation and travel payment may be provided if a member of the household unit incurs unusual travel related expenses as approved by the Director
- for health, safety or treatment reasons,
- to comply with Part 5 of the Act, or
- to make a mandatory appearance in court in a criminal proceeding in Alberta.
- The special transportation and travel payment that may be provided under subsection (1)
- is for the most economical and reasonable means of travel in the circumstances as determined by the Director in the following order of preference:
- the actual cost of public transportation;
- a per kilometre allowance for use of a personal vehicle;
- the actual cost of a taxi,
and
- may include
- if an overnight stay is necessary, the actual cost of reasonable accommodation, and
- if the travel is for more than 24 hours, a daily food allowance.
- is for the most economical and reasonable means of travel in the circumstances as determined by the Director in the following order of preference:
