Addictions Treatment

MO-2018-21 - Personal Benefit Rates and Frequencies

INTENT

To assist clients with the costs of overcoming addictions.

POLICY

In order to receive a personal benefit, the eligibility criteria as outlined in the Personal Benefits section must be met.

AISH provides an addictions treatment benefit to assist clients or their dependent child with the room and board costs of attending a residential addictions treatment program. The program must be approved by Alberta Health Services.

Clients attending a residential addictions treatment program will continue to receive their other AISH benefits. Clients and their dependent child may also be eligible for the travel benefit.

Substantiation
The residential treatment facility provides a letter to the client (or sends a facsimile directly to the AISH worker upon the client’s request) stating the type of treatment, commencement date and projected length of stay.

AISH Workers may request additional documentation if the AISH Worker deems it necessary.

Rate
$40.00 per day for room and board while in a residential addictions treatment program.
