Addictions Treatment

AUTHORITY

INTENT

To describe what assistance is available to clients to help with the costs of overcoming addictions.

POLICY

In order to receive a personal benefit, the eligibility criteria as outlined in the Personal Benefits section must be met.

AISH provides an addictions treatment benefit to assist clients or their dependent child with the room and board costs of attending a residential addictions treatment program. The program must be approved by Alberta Health Services.

Clients attending a residential addictions treatment program will continue to receive their other AISH benefits. Clients and their dependent child may also be eligible for the travel benefit.

Room and Board Rate

  • $40 per day (effective April 1, 2008) while in the residential addictions treatment program.
