Infant Care

MO-2018-21 - Personal Benefit Rates and Frequencies

INTENT

To assist clients with the costs of preparing or caring for an infant.

POLICY

In order to receive a personal benefit, the eligibility criteria as outlined in the Personal Benefits section must be met.

AISH provides an infant care benefit to assist clients with the costs of items for the care of their infant child.

The infant care benefit may be provided to a client if they, or their cohabiting partner:

  • Is at least 36 weeks pregnant;
  • Has given birth and the dependent child is not more than 6 months old; or
  • Has adopted a dependent child within the past 6 months, and the dependent child is less than 12 months old.

Substantiation

  • Verbal confirmation that client or cohabiting partner is at least 36 weeks pregnant
  • Infant dependent (not more than 6 months old) is / has been added to the file.
  • If the dependent child was adopted (within last 6 months and child is less than 12 months old), the AISH worker may request the adoption documents.
  • AISH Workers may request additional documentation if the AISH Worker deems it necessary.

Rate

  • A one-time payment of $284.00 per dependent infant child.
