Client Sub-Type 15 Attending a Program
Characteristics
ETW Clients who are attending full-time pre-employment or rehabilitation programs identified in their Individual Plan. These programs alone are not expected to lead to employment. They provide general information to prepare for employment not a specific skill set and could include:
ETW Clients who are attending full-time pre-employment or rehabilitation programs identified in their Individual Plan. These programs alone are not expected to lead to employment. They provide general information to prepare for employment not a specific skill set and could include:
- Life management
- Anger management
- Residential addictions treatment
- Job placement
- Job search
These are NOT programs under the Student Financial Assistance Act (SFAA). Clients planning to attend Foundational Learning or Skills Development programs should apply for assistance through the SFAA or alternate sources.
In addition to the expectations for all ETW clients, clients who are attending a program are also required to:
- Maintain the same level of commitment and behaviour in their program as an employer would expect in a work situation.
- Attend the program regularly.
- Inform program officials of the reason for any absences.
- Comply with all program policies and practices for student conduct.
- Attend employment workshops provided by department staff as required.
- Have an assessment completed.
Substantiation
Worker’s knowledge of the client’s situation, or a statement from the program provider regarding the type and length of the program and proof of attendance.
