INTENT

Clients are assigned to the Expected to Work (ETW) client type if they are:

  • Able to participate in a short-term educational or training program leading to employment in the competitive labour market, or

POLICY

ETW client sub-types must have an assessment completed. An assessment must be completed within the timeframe outlined under the specific ETW sub-type.

Individual Plan must be completed for all clients prior to any financial benefit being issued for the client. All clients are expected to follow through with commitments they have made in their Individual Plan.

If a client does not follow through with their Individual Plan or any other expectations outlined within the ETW category, a worker can deny or terminate benefits.
