Employment Income

AUTHORITY
Income Support, Training and Health Benefits Regulation, section 23(4)(a)

POLICY

Employment income includes non-monetary compensation, received in place of compensation for employment (e.g., free rent for apartment manager).

Note
Employment income is defined by its source and the reason it is received (payment by an employer for work) rather than the method of payment (cash, cheque, money order, goods, services or other valuables). For example, wages, salaries, honorariums, tips and commissions, paid by cash or cheque, are all employment income.
