02 Income Support Overview

Client Responsibilities

Income Support clients must:
  • Participate, if required, in activities to maintain or re-establish maximum self-reliance and independence.
  • Access all resources available outside of the program.
  • Substantiate their circumstances, needs and resources, including present and potential income and assets.
  • Inform the department of any changes that affect eligibility or the amount of benefits.

Clients forfeit the benefit of any income exemptions when they:

  • Intentionally mislead the department concerning their income or
  • Provide false information about the income of themselves or their dependants.
