Schedule 4 Supplementary Income Support

Section 13 Relocation

A relocation payment may be provided for expenses in relocating a household unit to a new principal residence by the most economical and reasonable means in any of the following circumstances:
  1. the move is essential because it assures the household unit’s reasonable future financial independence and

    1. an adult member of the household unit has accepted or is accepting confirmed full time employment, and
    2. the move is within Alberta or elsewhere in Canada;

  2. the move is essential to escape a situation in which a member of the household unit is being abused and

    1. the move is required for the member’s safety, and
    2. the move is within Alberta or elsewhere in Canada;

  3. the move is essential for the household unit’s financial or social support and is within Canada but outside of Alberta.
